We Have No Relationship With NACPDEAN, Charcoal Exporters Warn Govt, Public

Stakeholders in the charcoal export industry with verified commercial forests by the Federal Government’s Federal Department of Forestry, Federal Ministry of Environment have stated that they have no business with the National Association of Charcoal Producers Dealers, Exporters and Afforestation of Nigeria (NACPDEAN).

 

 

In a statement signed by its designated spokesman, Mr. Adesope R. Adebayo, stated that one Tunde Edu, has been unlawfully, wrongfully and illegally parading himself as the National President of all Charcoal Associations in Nigeria, without the knowledge, consent, approval and authority of verified Charcoal Export Stakeholders.

 

It further warned the general public and all Government Ministries, Agencies and Departments to disregard any correspondence made by NACPDEAN on behalf of Charcoal Export Stakeholders with verified Commercial Forests in Nigeria known and referred to as the Charcoal Export Legality and Compliance Group of Independent Companies.

 

The statement reads in parts: “It has come to the attention of Stakeholders in the Charcoal Export Industry with verified Commercial Forests by Federal Department of Forestry, Federal Ministry of Environment, that one Tunde Edu, has been unlawfully, wrongfully and illegally parading himself as the National President of all Charcoal Associations in Nigeria as National Association of Charcoal Producers, Dealers, Exporters and Afforestation of Nigeria (NACPDEAN) without the knowledge, consent, approval and authority of verified Charcoal Export Stakeholders, groups and associations in Nigeria purporting to be inaugurated by the Commodity Export Department of Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.

 

“All government Ministries, Agencies and Departments as well as the general public are hereby notified that Tunde Edu alongside Onyekwere Kingsley Chiedozie and Falade Damilare Emmanuel and others unknown purporting to be representatives of NACPDEAN are not known to or authorized by Charcoal Export Stakeholders with verified Commercial Forests in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

It however added that the National Forestry Policy 2020 was unveiled on 8th April 2022 to the Charcoal Export Stakeholders under the mandate of the Federal Ministry of Environment and the Nigerian Timber Legality Standard would be set up to offer the Federal Government full cooperation with compliance, implementation and enforcement because charcoal is a Forest Product and not a mere agricultural commodity.
